GTAW / TIG / Gas Tungsten Arc Welding – Merrill Fabricators
GTAW/TIG
Welding Processes
Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as TIG welding, is commonly used to weld thin sections of stainless steel and light metals, including aluminum and copper:
- Can be used with both filler metals or in autogenous welds
- Offers more control over weld strength than many other methods
- Preferred method for precise, high-strength critical welds
The quality of a GTAW weld is highly dependent on the skill and experience of the welder. Merrill Fabricators is proud to have some of the region’s most talented AWS- and ASME-qualified welders.
